This is our most commonly asked question. Yes, they absolutely do shed. All our dogs have double copies of the lowest shedding genes naturally available for the breed and they still shed. What breeds make up the fluffy French Bulldog?
A true fluffy French Bulldog is a purebred French Bulldog. There are no other breeds in the mix. I have posted more information on Spiffy’s stud page, but we completed his Embark DNA test proving that he is indeed 100% purebred French Bulldog. His AKC pedigree has had DNA testing submitted on 5 generations back. Spiffy has additionally submitted his DNA to AKC for verification that his AKC lineage is accurate.

Amercian Kennel Club (AKC) on fluffy French Bulldogs
Yes, fluffy Frenchies can be registered with AKC. However, there is not an option for specifying the dog’s coat length on your AKC registration. AKC has taken the stance that fluffy French Bulldogs are not breed standards and cannot compete in show, but are able to be registered and would receive a pedigree. However, International Bully Kennel Club (IBKC) does except fluffy French Bulldog if you are interested in showing.
