9 Dog Breeds Outsmarted by French Bulldogs: Results Revealed!
French Bulldogs are not known for their intelligence by any means, but they were able outsmart a chunk of the competition. Check out the 9 breeds that were left in the dust by the brilliant French Bulldog mind.
Intro:
French Bulldogs ranked above all 10 of these breeds in the latest intelligence testing performed by Stanley Coren, a professor of canine psychology at the University of British Columbia.
This testing involved teaching each breed a new command and documenting how much repetition was required per breed. French Bulldogs took between 41 - 80 repetitions to learn these new tricks. Meanwhile the breeds below all struggled with over 81 - 100 times before the new trick could be demonstrated.
Note: This list is in no specific order. Although, the last one is shocking!
Next time you get frustrated with your French Bulldog for not understanding after the 70th time. Just remember how hard it would be to own one of these other breeds who could take up to 100 attempts to learn one trick!
Additional Conclusions:
In all actuality, French Bulldog’s actually ranked in the 2nd to last category for intelligence per this study and 109th out of 138. I find it to be a very enduring quality that only adds to their quirks. They more than make up for the few loose screws in their head with their clinginess, loyalty, and loving nature.
